Dr. Fiorello is interested in disease ecology in wildlife, especially at the domestic animal-wildlife interface. Her doctoral dissertation research explored the relationship between domestic hunting dogs and disease in wild canids and felids in Bolivia. Her main interests are in Latin American carnivore ecology and conservation, but she also has worked on tortoises, armadillos, tapirs, and tegu lizards in Bolivia and elsewhere in South America. She continues to work in Latin America, and is currently studying nutrition and feeding ecology in northern tamanduas in Honduras.
Various opportunities exist for veterinary students, fellow academicians, and veterinarians to visit, observe and train at the veterinary college. More at "Visit Us."
